Choose the ride -- a 30-mile or 62-mile route;

Or the run -- a half-marathon, a 5K challenge or a 1 mile Fun Run;

Or join us for the Double Creek walk.  This 3 mile walk will be held at the school,

Or take the Endurance Challenge -- the half-marathon and either of the rides.

Cyclists, runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in a day of activity and fun on a scenic route throughout northern York and Adams counties. All event proceeds will benefit the Healthy Community Pharmacy.

About the Ride

In 2003, to combine the area's enthusiasm for cycling with a desire to help neighbors in need, WellSpan Health and its partnering organizations announced the creation of the Double Creek Event.

This 50, 75 or 100km ride will take you through scenic and lightly traveled roads of York and Adams counties. You will enjoy green stretches of farmland, rustic bridges, and country churches while riding along the Conewago and Bermudian creeks for which the ride was named.

30 Miles (48 km) Route  Map it!

48 Miles (78 km) Route  Map it!

62 Miles (100 km) Route  Map it!

This route for this event will be punctuated by several rest stops. Healthy refreshments will be available at all of these stops, and a celebratory brunch will mark the end of the tour.

Over the last five years, the event has experienced remarkable growth, thanks in large part to the generosity of the community and participants like yourself.

For more information about the Double Creek Tour, please contact Lisa Oriolo at loriolo@wellspan.org

About the Run

The Double Creek Run takes up the legacy of an important event that has been carried on at the Hospital Fete for more than 25 years. Many steps have been taken to ensure that it has kept as much of its identity and individuality as possible.

5K Run Route

Half Marathon Route

The route for this event, which will be separate from the cycle route, will be punctuated by frequent water/sport drink/gel stands. A celebratory lunch will mark the end of the run.

To keep everyone safe on all running routes, we ask that you do not bring animals to the event, and we also ask that you refrain from wearing headphones while participating.

About the Walk

The walk will be held at 9:35 AM on the 5K run course.  It will start immediately following the 5k run start.  Because of the anticipated crowds, please do not bring animals on the track to walk.  We appreciate your cooperation.

About the Mission

The Double Creek events were established to provide support to programs that benefit underinsured kids and the families who provide care for them. This year, all money raised by the Tour and the Run will benefit the Healthy Community Pharmacy.

In many cases, uninsured or underinsured patients may have access to a doctor and a diagnosis, but may not have the financial ability to pay for prescribed medications. Without these medications to complete treatments, simple illnesses become more acute and chronic. More severe illnesses result in longer recoveries, additional treatments, and even hospitalizations.

The Healthy Community Pharmacy has been constructed for low income patients from all over the community. This pharmacy allows medications to be filled for eligible patients at cost plus a small dispensing fee. This will enable the funds to help even more patients this year.

Last year more than 3,700 patients were assisted by this fund in paying for life sustaining medications. With your help, we hope to help far more.
